PERSONAL FAQQ: HOW DO YOU PRONOUNCE YOUR USERNAME?
A: 'kade-e-umz'. I got it from a nickname-making quiz off a (now defunct) website called Quibblo back in 2013 [i.e. the result I had got was "your name +iumz". in my case, i removed the e since it looked weird as 'kadeiumz' does it make sense when pronouncing it? not really, no LOL. Take that up with 16 year old me.]
Q: WHAT ARE YOUR INSPIRATIONS?
A: lemme list out a few below :)
- Art: Ken Sugimori, Richard Scarry, and Charles M. Schulz were huge childhood inspirations. Also, mogumu, fourleafisland, and RAMDARAM are more current inspirations!
- Music: Toby Fox, Daft Punk, femtanyl, Machine Girl, Justice, Tame Impala, Louie Zong, Metaroom, Joe Hisashi, DV-i, and Hideki Naganuma are the biggest reasons why I make music.
- Writing: I grew up with lots of Sheldon Silverstein and Rick Riordan. I'm currently enjoying Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn series. Additionally, I take lots of inspiration from the world around me as well as technology, movies, and video game narratives.
- Video Games: I adore Toby Fox's narrative and musical works in both Undertale and Deltarune. I also enjoy Animal Crossing for GameCube, all DS era Pokémon games (including Mystery Dungeon and Rangers), Earthbound/Mother 2, Mother 3, and Style Savvy!
ART FAQQ: WHAT PROGRAM DO YOU USE TO DRAW?
A: I recently just upgraded to an iPad Air 11" M4 Chip and I use Procreate app to draw. Prior to this, I used a refurbished iPad Pro model from 2018 (aka cheaper, used, and reset by Apple).
I also sometimes use MSPaint on my pc with a 2nd-hand Wacom tablet I was gifted.
Q: WHAT BRUSHES DO YOU USE?
A: For Procreate, I use Cy's brushpack! I also use Squiggle Wiggle (not sure where from, it was given to me by a studio for a project. I've had no luck reverse searching for it's source either...), and Magic Pencil.
Q: DO YOU USE ANY REF BOOKS OR SITES?
A: I do! I use Pinterest quite often for practice figure drawing,
pose inspiration, and colors. I do a lot of pose and figure
studies from reference books and PDFs, and read up/study on said stuff a LOT in my free time. The best figure drawing books I personally use are Cartooning the Head and Figure by Jack Hamm and Figure Drawing For All It's Worth by Andrew Loomis. I also recently picked up all the Morpho: Anatomy for Artists Book series by Michel Lauricella from my local bookstore.
