PERSONAL FAQQ: HOW DO YOU PRONOUNCE YOUR USERNAME?
A: 'kade-umz'. I got it from a nickname-making quiz off a (dead) website called Quibblo back in 2013 [i.e. your name +iumz. in my case, the 'i' replaced the 'e')
Q: WHAT ARE YOUR INSPIRATIONS?
A: lemme list out a few below :)
- Art: Ken Sugimori, Richard Scarry, and Charles M. Schulz were huge childhood inspirations. Also, mogumu, fourleafisland, and RAMDARAM are more current inspirations!
- Music: Toby Fox, Daft Punk, femtanyl, Machine Girl, Justice, Tame Impala, Louie Zong, Metaroom, Joe Hisashi, DV-i, and Hideki Naganuma are the biggest reasons why I make music.
- Writing: I grew up with lots of Sheldon Silverstein and Rick Riordan. I currently take lots of inspiration from the world around me as well as technology, and video game narratives.
-Video Games: I adore Toby Fox's narrative and musical works in both Undertale and Deltarune. I also enjoy Animal Crossing for GameCube, all DS era Pokémon games (including Mystery Dungeon and Rangers!), Earthbound/Mother 2 and Mother 3, and Style Savvy!
ART FAQQ: WHAT PROGRAM DO YOU USE TO DRAW?
A: I use Procreate on my refurbished iPad Pro (aka cheaper, used, and reset by Apple). I also sometimes MSPaint on my pc with a used Wacom tablet I was gifted.
Q: WHAT BRUSHES DO YOU USE?
A: For Procreate, I use the in-program 6B Pencil for line art and either 6B Pencil or Gloaming (also an in-program brush) for coloring. I just recently started using Cy's brushpack as well! Very fun; I highly recommend it!
Q: DO YOU USE ANY REF BOOKS OR SITES?
A: I do! I use Pinterest sometimes for practice figure drawing, pose inspiration, and colors. I do a lot of pose and figure studies from reference books and PDFs, and read up on said stuff often in my free time. The best figure drawing books I personally use are Cartooning the Head and Figure by Jack Hamm and Figure Drawing For All It's Worth by Andrew Loomis
